About Dan
Dan Rush initially got into the financial advisory business because he was intrigued by the fast pace of the bond markets. After gaining experience inside the industry, he decided it was time for a change. He switched from working as a fixed income trader at a St. Louis broker-dealer to a career as a fixed income advisor at Buckingham after realizing the power of an investment approach that puts the client first.
Now, Dan uses his knowledge and extensive experience to help others build strategic portfolios, based on peer-reviewed academic research rather than opinion.
As a fixed income advisor, Dan assists clients and members of Buckingham Strategic Wealth’s advisory teams to develop custom, individually tailored fixed-income portfolios designed to help clients meet their most important, long-term financial goals. His duties include monitoring bond market conditions, such as changing interest rates and credit events, to add clarity and direction to client strategies.
Dan enjoys participating in client meetings, where he helps provide transparency to the bond markets, and interacting with the dealer community to ensure the most favorable execution of trades on behalf of clients. For Dan, it’s not about selling products; it’s about doing what’s right for the client and their long-term financial objectives.
Prior to joining Buckingham in 2007, Dan spent five years as a fixed income trader at A.G. Edwards & Sons, now Wells Fargo Advisors, where he conducted transactions involving the firm’s inventory of taxable bonds. Before that, he worked as an IRA and retirement plan specialist for Edward Jones.
Dan earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Truman State University in 1997 and has passed the Series 65 exam.
He is married with two boys and lives in Manchester, Missouri.
