Kurt Schafers’ favorite part of his job is interacting with clients. He enjoys reaching out to them to address their needs, answering questions and assuring them their plan is on track to meet financial goals. He gets great satisfaction when he demonstrates to clients that the plan customized specifically for them is delivering anticipated results, yielding them security and happiness.
As a wealth advisor for Buckingham Strategic Wealth, Kurt takes pride in helping clients navigate the challenges they face as they plan for and eventually enter retirement. Every client’s circumstances are unique, and this requires analysis and guidance that meets the distinctive needs of each situation. Day to day, Kurt monitors client accounts and assists his team with implementing comprehensive plans for clients, which take into account investment management as well as tax and estate-planning considerations. It’s important to Kurt to work for a firm whose driving principle is doing what is in the clients’ best interests through an evidence-driven approach.
Kurt has been with Buckingham Strategic Wealth since 2014. Prior to joining Buckingham, he worked as an attorney in a private practice, where he focused on issues related to the financial services industry. Kurt is a graduate of Truman State University and St. Louis University School of Law. He also holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional designation.
Outside of Buckingham, he sits on the alumni board of Chaminade College Preparatory School and serves on the Financial Advisory Committee of the Webster Groves School District. He and his wife have four children and reside in the greater St. Louis area. He spends his free time with his kids at ball fields and basketball courts, and he enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family.
