About Maryann

Maryann believes the best way to make the world a better place is to help others. As a wealth advisor she works with clients to simplify their complicated finances so they can focus on what is most important in their lives. This process covers everything from developing plans for stock options and restricted shares to issues around deferred compensation and other employer incentive plans, while also considering current and future tax implications. She gets gratification from helping her clients find unique solutions tailored to their individual needs while incorporating differences into solutions to positively impact their lives.

Intrigued by multi-variable problem-solving, in college Maryann studied engineering before migrating to political science as a more complex field of study (once you add people, things become infinitely more complicated). After college, she learned more about accounting, taxes and benefits and fell into helping people with their finances. She enjoys guiding clients on their path. She also uses that guidance to mentor teammates to help them grow on their paths to be better advisors.

Her career in finance began at GreenCourse Financial Advisors. During her 14 years with the firm she held numerous positions of increasing responsibility. Maryann was a Principal at the firm when they joined Buckingham in 2020. She received a bachelor of arts in political science from the University of Nebraska and has the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification. Maryann serves as a board member for The St. Louis Children’s Choirs, a vestry member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, an assistant troop leader for the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri and volunteers with The Metal Museum and the Society for Creative Anachronism.

Maryann, her husband Michael, and their daughter live in St. Louis in a home built in 1900, which was substantially rehabbed by/for their family. In her spare time, Maryann participates in scotch whisky tastings, cooking, weaving, sewing and reading. The family has three cats who think all the string in the house should be theirs to play with.
