About Adam
Putting his deep and diverse experience to work, Adam spends his days helping clients address their multilayered issues in areas such as portfolio construction, tax minimization, retirement planning, asset protection, and estate and legacy planning. When financial challenges become complex, Adam quickly and nimbly pulls together the right team of professionals, coordinates recommendations and then puts comprehensive strategies into play.
The favorite part of Adam’s professional life is getting to know the diverse individuals, families and business owners with whom he works. He loves getting to interact with interesting and goal-driven people — hearing their stories, learning their life path, understanding their aspirations and helping them with the financial challenges they face.
Before joining Buckingham in 2019, Adam served as president of Alpern Wealth Management for 13 years. In this role, he developed and executed the firm’s strategy and client service plan and developed investment portfolios and financial plans. Prior, he was a financial advisor with Smith Barney for five years and a senior manager with Deloitte & Touche for 12 years.
Adam holds a Bachelor of Science from Miami University of Ohio. He has earned his Personal Financial Specialist and Certified Public Accountant designations. He also is a graduate of Leadership Pittsburgh, a program that brings together diverse, senior-level leaders with the aim to create strong personal bonds and affect change in the region.
Active in his community, Adam has served as board president of CASA of Allegheny County, the treasurer for the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts and The Woodlands Foundation, and a trustee for the Phipps Conservatory. A native of Los Angeles, Adam now lives in Mt. Lebanon, Pa. He has two children, Chloe and Eli, and enjoys spending his free time exercising, traveling and cooking on his Big Green Egg grill.
