About Kathleen
Kathleen focuses her wealth advisory experience on working with clients to find solutions and develop strategies to help them achieve their objectives. She finds it rewarding to work with smart, intelligent and interesting clients, each with their own story of how they became successful - and she is totally invested in each story. As an advisor she strives to make a big impact on individuals and families, helping them improve their lives.
As a woman and a woman of color, Kathleen has achieved the unexpected as a business owner and advisor - creating a successful team in a profession traditionally dominated by men. She is known for finding creative solutions for complex financial situations. She served as the CEO and a senior wealth advisor at Confluence Wealth Management before the firm joined Buckingham Strategic Wealth in 2020. She worked at Confluence for 20 years, after opening the first financial planning offices for a national bank and working at other wealth management firms in and around the Seattle area.
Kathleen received a bachelor’s of science in business administration and finance from Oregon State University and has pursued graduate studies at Seattle University and Washington State University. She holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM certification.
Outside of the office Kathleen is very active in the community and serves in leadership positions as chair for the Friends of the Children Foundation, treasurer for the International Women’s Forum Oregon (IWF), and the immediate past president of Randall Children’s Hospital Board of Trustees. She also serves as a board member of the Portland Business Alliance and Friends of the Children for SW WA. Other organizations where she is involved include the Estate Planning Council of Portland, the Estate Planning Council of Southwest Washington, the CFA Society of Portland, Women in Investment Portland, her national study group, the Athena Group, the Oregon Historical Society, and the Portland Chinatown Museum.
Kathleen is a Portland native but now lives with her family and soon to be three dogs in Vancouver, WA. She loves being at the coast as much as possible and spending time in their home in Hoonah, Alaska - interestingly, the same village where the show Alaskan Bush People was filmed.
