Omar's journey into financial planning was fueled by a deep-rooted motivation to make a positive impact on people's lives. Witnessing the financial challenges faced by his own family while growing up, he recognized the transformative power of sound financial guidance and sought to empower others with the same knowledge and tools.
Before joining Buckingham Strategic Wealth in 2022, Omar built a diverse career in financial planning within the dynamic Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. As a versatile and adaptable professional, he transitioned between boutique and large advisory firms, assuming different roles that provided unique opportunities for growth and development. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in personal financial planning from Texas Tech University, as well as a graduate certificate in charitable financial planning from Texas Tech University. He also holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation.
Outside of work, Omar cherishes time spent with his family, which includes his husband, Hernan, and their three adored dogs, Boomer, Rosie and Bruce. Alongside his professional endeavors, he has taken on the role of city council member for the City of Farmers Branch, Texas, where he contributes his skills and insights to local governance.
