About Tim
As an Advisory Team Director, Tim partners with Buckingham’s advisory teams to help them implement the firm’s strategic priorities, manage and develop their team members, and run efficient practices that help clients achieve their most important financial and life goals.
In his role, Tim engages a broad range of teams to learn more about and share best practices from advisors that he considers firmly at the forefront of the industry. When a team’s ideas are translated into initiatives that elevate all the firm’s advisors, clients can only benefit.
Tim’s responsibilities also include working with advisory teams to help maximize their resources, identify and develop talent internally to become the firm’s next generation of leading advisors, and ensure advisors have the tools they need to enhance their clients’ experience.
He knows that the work his team does to support advisory teams in always putting their clients first can affect thousands of lives, from the nuts and bolts of navigating the complexity of investments, taxes and retirement all the way to helping individuals and families discern the values and goals that will underlie their holistic financial life plans.
Before joining Buckingham in 2016, Tim served as a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley. Prior to that, he worked as a financial counselor for a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping consumers improve their financial IQ through debt management, budgeting, credit, and taxes. He still serves as president of Apex Motorsport, a supercar driving experience he co-founded in 2014.
Outside of work, Tim holds roles as a past board member for the Ladue Education Foundation and St. Louis BMW CCA.
Tim earned his bachelor’s degree in personal financial planning from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2012 and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.
Born and raised in St. Louis, Tim moved to Raleigh, North Carolina in 2017. He’s an avid racing enthusiast and certified High Performance Driving Instructor who works with several car clubs. He’s also an amateur competitor in endurance sportscar racing, where the longest race he’s ever competed in (with three other co-drivers) was 12 hours long. When he’s not at a racetrack or riding a motorcycle, he’s usually enjoying live music or going on a hike with his dog.
