About Wendy
As an office support associate, Wendy Melis provides office management and administrative support for the wealth advisory teams in Buckingham’s Fairfax and Middleburg, VA offices. She works with these teams to ensure they collectively provide excellent client service with a personal touch. No two days are alike for Wendy. One day, she’s invoking her design background to create a direct mailer, the next she’s greeting clients or troubleshooting a pesky printer.
Wendy joined the firm in 2019, bringing with her an extensive history and experience in marketing. She previously worked as the director of marketing for The Door & Hardware Institute and The Solid Waste Association. Most notably, she’s the current CEO and Chief Illustrator of AuntWendysBooks.com where she illustrates a line of children’s books and helps other writers and illustrators self-publish. She holds a bachelor’s degree in art from East Carolina University.
Away from Buckingham, Wendy enjoys spending time with her husband, Erik, her five sons and 10 grandchildren. Named after a character in J.M. Barrie’s book, Peter Pan, she never much cared for her name. As an adult, though, she feels it’s perfectly suited as she’s always been a caretaker of lost boys, girls and animals. Today, she fully embraces her namesake as it perfectly suits her passion to provide care, support and empathy for others, especially in times of need.
